Pharmaceutics

Novel drug delivery systems, nanocarriers, biopharmaceutics, and pharmaceutical product development for improved therapeutic outcomes.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Design and synthesis of new chemical entities, computer-aided drug design, and structure-activity relationship studies.

Pharmacology

Preclinical evaluation of drug action, toxicology studies, and investigation of disease models for therapeutic intervention.

Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance

Analytical method development, regulatory science, stability studies, and quality-by-design approaches in manufacturing.

Pharmacognosy

Phytochemical investigation, standardisation of herbal drugs, and validation of traditional medicine through scientific methods.

Eligibility Screening

Application scrutiny against minimum qualifying marks and NET/SET/GATE/GPAT exemption criteria as per university norms.

Entrance Test (PET)

University-conducted Ph.D. Entrance Test assessing research aptitude and subject knowledge, unless exempted under UGC norms.

Research Proposal Presentation

Shortlisted candidates present a preliminary research outline before the Departmental Research Committee.

Interview & Allotment

Personal interview followed by allotment of research supervisor and provisional registration with the University.

Eligibility Criteria — Ph.D. (Pharmacy)

Eligibility Criteria

As per the Ph.D. Ordinance of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and applicable UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations.

01The candidate should be an Indian National.

02Passed Master's Degree in Pharmacy (M. Pharm) in the relevant specialisation from a UGC / PCI recognised university, with at least 55% marks (at least 50% marks in case of Backward Class category, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).

03Qualified UGC-NET / SET / GATE / GPAT or equivalent national-level test, OR cleared the University's own Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) as per the prevailing Ph.D. Ordinance.

04Candidates with Master's degree under the 4+1 / 5-year integrated pattern recognised by the affiliating University are also eligible to apply.

05Working professionals applying as part-time research scholars must furnish a No Objection Certificate from their employer along with proof of a minimum of two years' relevant service.

PET

Candidates holding a valid UGC-NET, SET, GATE or GPAT score are exempted from the University's Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) but are still required to appear for the research proposal presentation and interview.
